JP Translation offers high quality translations from Japanese to English, specialising in
dealing with Chemical, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering patents.
In translation, quality depends first and foremost on how well the translator understands the content
of the source language document (Japanese, in our case), and how clearly the translator expresses that content
in the target language (English). Since most of us make errors from time to time, any such errors must

Understanding the Source Document
It goes without saying that to understand technical material, one must have knowledge of the field.
When it comes to translation, however, this obvious fact is often overlooked. Some contend that with
the proper field-specific dictionaries, any good translator who is fluent in the source and target
languages should be able to produce a good translation. A translator who writes well in the target
language (English, in our case) but does not understand the technical content, however, may misinterpret
the material, and may even mask his errors with polished English.
We only accepts translations in technical areas in which we are reasonably knowledgeable.
